hello@methodiqal.co.uk

Methodiqal is me, Iqbal. Not an agency, not a team, not a call centre — one person who builds websites and answers his own emails.

How this started

I have always built websites. It began as tinkering, the way some people take engines apart. Then I built one for my own business, because I needed one and could not see the sense in paying thousands for something I understood how to make. Then people started asking me to build theirs.

What made it worth turning into a business was noticing the same problem over and over. Small businesses were being quoted three or four thousand pounds and waiting two months for a five-page website. Or they were being sold a £49-a-month deal where they never actually owned anything, and the site vanished the day they stopped paying. Neither of those is a fair deal for a plumber, a tutor or a community centre.

What I actually do

By day I work as a business analyst. That turns out to be more relevant than it sounds: most of the job is working out what someone actually needs, as opposed to what they first asked for, and then making sure the thing that gets built solves the real problem.

Websites are the part I do for the love of it. I like the tinkering, and I like the moment a business owner sees their own site for the first time and it looks like something they are proud to hand out.

What this means for you in practice. The person who quotes you is the person who builds it and the person who replies when you email six months later. Nothing gets passed to a junior, nothing gets outsourced, and nobody has to check with a project manager.

Why fixed prices

Because “it depends” is how small businesses end up with bills they did not expect. You see the price, the number of pages, the number of revision rounds and the delivery time before you commit to anything. If your project genuinely needs more than the package covers, I will tell you what that costs before I build it, not after.

The same goes for ownership. Your domain is registered in your name. The finished site becomes yours on final payment. If you ever want to walk away and take it elsewhere, you can, and I will help you move it.

Work I turn down

I do not build sites for gambling, alcohol, adult content, or anything I would be uncomfortable explaining to my family. That is a personal line rather than a commercial one, and I am aware it costs me work. I would rather it did.

I will also say no to a project I do not think I am the right fit for. If what you need is genuinely a £5,000 custom build with a booking system and stock control, I will tell you that rather than sell you something that will not do the job.

Where I am

I am based in the UK and work with businesses across the country. Everything is handled by email and over the phone, which is why the turnaround times are what they are — there are no meetings to schedule and no diaries to align. If you would rather talk something through, that is fine too, just say.
